Primary Assessment for Leaders on Thursday 10 OR Thursday 17 March (sessions are repeated so attendance only needed at one)
Primary Assessment for Leaders training is an opportunity for senior leaders to refresh their understanding of primary assessment as we approach the summer term.
COURSE CONTENT:
- Explore pedagogical approaches to assessment used in primary schools and consider how well the approach used in your school is understood by your teaching staff?
- Understand the different models of pupil assessment and how they can be used to set challenging targets, monitor progress and raise standards for all pupils, including those working below the national curriculum
- A refresher of the DfE Accountability Arrangements for primary school tests and assessments from 2018 – 2019 academic year to help support you in summer 2022
- Understanding school performance data and reporting to governors
- How do leaders in your school seek to reduce workload in the area of assessment?

The Primary School Accountability DfE Technical Guide
How do schools calculate their progress scores?
An opportunity to practise ‘worked examples’ of Prior Attainment Groups and calculating individual progress scores
