NPQ Programmes & Funding Opportunities

Dear Colleague
I am writing to advise that the registration window is now open for all of the DfE accredited National Professional Qualifications in school leadership, for programmes commencing in Autumn 2018.

Best Practice Network and the Outstanding Leaders Partnership are pleased to offer the following qualifications:

  • NPQ for Middle Leadership
  • NPQ for Senior Leadership
  • NPQ for Headship
  • NPQ for Executive Leadership

Candidates can now apply via the REGISTER option, contained in the above links.   PLEASE NOTE: the registration deadline for all of the programmes is 31 AUGUST 2018.

Funding opportunities: Funding is available for participants from the 12 opportunity areas and the category 5 and 6 local authority districts, who will have the full costs of the courses covered.  To ascertain if candidates from your school will be eligible for scholarships, please select this link:

Halton SIMS – General Data Protection Regulations  – GDPR

The Halton SIMS Server GDPR Compliant document explains the infrastructure that Halton Borough Council created for SIMS/FMS which allows schools and academies to access their data from a cloud based environment .

It also covers the following important areas that outlines aspects of SIMS that will support schools and academies with your GDPR compliance.

1.      Halton SIMS Centralisation
•        This explains that Halton Borough Council provides a resilient infrastructure for hosting SIMS and its modules including being able to access the software from any computer, laptop etc with an internet connection creating anytime access for school staff and its teachers.
2.      Hosting Approach – Explained
•        This outlines the details about where your data is hosted and how the hosting infrastructure is GDPR complaint .
3.      Redstor Online Backup
•        This explains that your data is backed up daily and then stored in two UK backup centres and is fully encrypted.
4.      SIMS Product Developments to help schools and academies with GDPR
•        This section reaffirms the product developments in SIMS that you previously received on the e-circular, explaining how you can run Subject Access Requests (SAR) in SIMS, as well as information on the upcoming data retention and deletion routines which can be implemented to support schools with their policies.
