Halton Libraries Read-a-thon
Status – Information
Applies to – All Schools

From 1st – 6th July Halton Libraries are running the first Halton Read-a-thon to celebrate and promote Reading for Pleasure.

We would love to get as many schools as possible leading the way in getting our borough reading. We have set a borough wide target of 60,000 reading minutes in 6 days. We will be running ‘Read in the Library’ and ‘Read in the Park’ sessions that schools can book into or you can run a ‘Read in School’ activity and register your minutes with us.

We are really excited to be sharing the Halton Readathon with 34 Halton schools and nurseries. It’s not too late to get involved, here are a couple of points you might find useful:

– You don’t have to bring your children to our events, you can get involved by registering your reading time in school towards our 60,000 minute target. Send your reading times to nicola.lamb@halton.gov.uk, tweet @HaltonLibraries or use the #HaltonReadathon hashtag on social media.

– Now that the weather has improved, if you have decided that you would like to bring your children out there are still places available for our Read in the Library and Read in the Park.
