Halton SACRE have received clarification from the Department for Education with regard to the requirement to teach RE in maintained schools and academies. We have also read the new Ofsted Inspection Handbook, and wish to offer this helpful guidance to schools on the expectation to provide high quality RE to all pupils in all years in all schools. Many of you will know of the awards event planned for 22nd July 2019 at the Halton Stadium, from 6pm until 8pm to celebrate the winning nominations for the  #Passiton2019 #Good Neighbour project in Halton

I would like to ask you all for two key areas of help…

Please can you all look across your networks and communities to find additional candidates to nominate. Nomination forms are attached. We have five categories:

Under 11 years – we currently only have 1 nomination in this category and would like one from each school – the winning child from each school will be presented with their award at the Halton Healthy Schools event on the 3rd July and will be put forward to be judged as the overall winner and presented with this during the 22nd July event. There are some ideas on how to do this in the attached information

11-18 years – we currently have no nominations for this category and would like one from each school/college – the winning pupil from each school/college will be presented with their award at the Halton Healthy Schools event on the 3rd July and will be put forward to be judged as the overall winner and presented with this during the 22nd July event. There are some ideas on how to do this in the attached information

Also can I urge as many of you to help support the event by attending the awards ceremony on the 22nd July. An email invitation will shortly be issued asking you to confirm attendance to assist us in catering. Confirmation of your attendance can be emailed back to my PA, Tracy Lowe on tracylowe@aukmm.org.uk

I do hope as many of you as possible will get behind this important community celebration event.
