FAO Headteachers and RE Leads
Gillian Moonman – Board of Deputies of British Jews and member of Halton SACRE
Whilst knowing that teaching Judaism is a tiny part of the RE curriculum, nevertheless it’s so important that children have an understanding of religions other than their own.
Appreciating “ the other” from a young age leads, we hope, to a more cohesive tolerant society as the generations evolve.
To that end, an invitation is extended to visit the Southport Hebrew Congregation, who regularly welcome school visits. The contact to arrange a visit is the Secretary office@shcus.org.uk
If preferred, Gillian could also give a presentation on Zoom to a larger group. Please contact the Clerk to Halton SACRE if this is of interest Elizabeth.Chan@halton.gov.uk
Sefton SACRE in conjunction with the Board of Deputies of British Jews www.bod.org.uk have updated the Jewish Living Experience Exhibition. This will be hosted in Sefton at the Formby centre in Autumn 2023. Halton schools will be very welcome visitors and more details will be circulated nearer the time.
