Fostering competition for primary schools “draws” to a close
Halton schoolchildren have been using their creative skills to help raise awareness of the need for foster carers in the borough.
At the start of the year the Halton fostering team launched a competition for primary schools, asking pupils to draw their favourite place. The aim of the competition was to softly introduce the topic of fostering in a creative way and raise awareness about the need for foster carers in the area. Halton foster carers and staff visited every primary in Halton to drop off packs and have been overwhelmed by the response.
We’re pleased to announce 4 winners, who will each receive a voucher and have their drawing designed and printed into the next school friendly fostering poster
1st place is awarded to IslaLoughran-Hankinson from The Brow.
2nd place is awarded to Eva Donoghue from Brookvale.
3rd place is awarded to Gracie O’Malley from The Brow.
A special recognition also goes out to Bella Coady from Brookvale who scored the highest out of year 3 and 4 entries.
Thank you to the following schools for all their support and participation: Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Catholic Primary School, The Brow Primary School, Westfield Primary School, All Saints Primary School and Brookvale Primary School, who submitted a combined total of 89 entries!
