Reducing Parental Conflict

Whether you are together or separated, the way you and your partner – or ex- partner – communicate can impact on your children. Conflict between parents can affect your child’s behaviours, emotions and feelings – now and in the future. Arguments are a normal part of family life, but when our arguments are frequent, intense and poorly resolved it can put children’s mental health and long-term life chances at risk…We have lots of support available to support parents who are experiencing conflict – click the link to find out more”

Primary Assessment for Leaders training is an opportunity for senior leaders to refresh their understanding of primary assessment as we approach the summer term.

  • Explore pedagogical approaches to assessment used in primary schools and consider how well the approach used in your school is understood by your teaching staff?
  • Understand the different models of pupil assessment and how they can be used to set challenging targets, monitor progress and raise standards for all pupils, including those working below the national curriculum
  • A refresher of the DfE Accountability Arrangements for primary school tests and assessments from 2018 – 2019 academic year to help support you in summer 2022
  • Understanding school performance data and reporting to governors
  • How do leaders in your school seek to reduce workload in the area of assessment?

Also a chance to discuss:-

Formative Assessment

How well are children progressing?  How do you know?

Summative Assessment

The Primary School Accountability DfE Technical Guide

How do schools calculate their progress scores?

An opportunity to practise ‘worked examples’ of Prior Attainment Groups and calculating individual progress scores
