Strategies for working with bereaved pupils in school

A free face-to-face bereavement workshop from Child Bereavement UK

This in-depth practical workshop has been developed using theories of grief and drawing on the experiences of young people. Attendees will explore a range of strategies to support bereaved pupils and develop confidence when talking to young people about death and grief. There will be opportunities to consider procedures within school which promote a bereavement aware culture. This workshop is suitable for all staff working with bereaved pupils in schools.

Did you know that 1 in 29 pupils aged 5-16 are bereaved of a parent or sibling? Despite this, death and grief are often seen as taboo subjects and therefore are not discussed in school. The education professionals we support often tell us they worry about saying the wrong thing to their bereaved pupils. If you would like to feel more confident in supporting your bereaved pupils, then come along to our free workshop.

Places are limited and will be allocated on receipt of completed https://forms.office.com/e/XkJ6tvwjGW form.

He loves Rhiannon and really looks forward to his Yoga sessions. The members of the group foster a caring and welcoming atmosphere. I always see a definite change in my son’s behaviour after sessions. He always seems calmer and extremely happy. Thank you wriggly wellness!”
