Budget Adjustments

Budget Adjustments: Recovery Premium Payment 29th Sept and National Tutoring Programme Payment – 29th Sept

Dear All,

You will have seen budget adjustments allocating funding to schools for September 2023 for the above grants. Unfortunately these have had to be reversed.

The full, annual estimated allocation for the 2 grants was given to schools as the start of the year, within your 2023-24 budget allocation, whereas in previous years it had only been given out when the LA received it i.e Sept, Dec, Mar and Jun. Therefore schools have already received the funding.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the error.

Please note – there will be a year end reconciliation of the final allocations and a further adjustment (up or down) may be required – but this cannot be actioned until year end.

Any questions please let me know – jane.slater@halton.gov.uk  or speak to your finance officer.

BBC micro:bit – the next gen

The BBC are keen to be in contact with all primary schools to take up this amazing free offer.

BBC micro:bit – the next gen is now live! BBC micro:bit – the next gen is a partnership between BBC Education, the Micro:bit Educational Foundation and Nominet. Made possible by Nominet’s support, the partnership is donating a set of 30 micro:bits to every primary school across the UK that registers to receive them. The campaign aims to empower primary school children aged 8 to 11 with the digital skills to understand the world around them and shape their futures. Teachers are supported with an array of training and resources to build their confidence teaching with the micro:bit.

Registration ends 18 December so there’s still time to sign your school up at bbc.co.uk/microbit
