Safer Recruitment in Education training

Applies to-All schools

The dates of the Safer Recruitment in Education training and Refresher training for the 2019-20 academic year are now confirmed.  Booking is via the training page of the HSCB website

 The training is for Head Teachers, Chairs of Governors, Business Managers and those involved in the recruitment of staff, including volunteers, in education settings.  The training meets the requirement for every appointment panel to posts in education settings to include at least one member who has been Safer Recruitment trained.

 

 For those staff who have previously completed Safer Recruitment training the Refresher course should be completed at least every 5 years.

FREE Fit 4 Life Camps this Summer

 

Applies to-All schools
We are now taking bookings for both Fit 4 Life Camps this August.

 

VENUE:                Community Hub, Upper Level, Community Square, Shopping City Runcorn
DATES:                  Tuesday 6th – Thursday 8th August 2019
TIME:                    10am – 12 noon

 

VENUE:                St Luke’s Scout Hut, Farnworth Street, Widnes
DATES:                  Tuesday 20th – Thursday 22nd August 2019
TIME:                    10am – 12 noon

 

Fit 4 Life Camp is a free fun activity camp for children and their parents/carers during the school holidays. The aim of the camp is to get families to have fun being active, and learn about

healthy snacking, making healthy food choices, and reducing sedentary time. It is aimed at families with children aged 4-11 years, but all siblings of any age are welcome to attend.

Please share the flyer with your colleagues or any families that you think may be interested.

Halton Healthy schools 2019-20

We are please to bring you next academic years Halton Healthy Schools Standards. Halton Healthy schools 2019-20 aims to be a more cordinated response from a number of partners to your schools needs.

This will be coordinated through a school visit with Halton Health Improvement member of staff and will be based on Halton School Nurses Health Assesment.

Halton Healthy schools award is based on a whole school approach to physical, social and emotional health and wellbeing. Healthy schools status will provide a foundation for your school to systematically develop and improve health outcomes and embed them in the culture of your school.

Being a Healthy School is not just about children and young people, it is about the whole school community.

Area of support include; Fit 4 Life, Growing & changing, school council sessions, The Daily Mile, Tobacco, Drugs, alcohol, First Aid, Dementia, Mental Health, stay safe, esaftey and Oral Health.

Aimed at Staff,  Pupils, parents and carers.
