Space in Schools:
Careering into Space

The University of Central Lancashire and STEMFirst, the STEM Ambassador Partner in the NW, invite you to explore how teaching the KS2 Earth and Space topic can be supported through cross-curricular teaching using dance and real-world career links.

Funded by the UK Space Agency, this continuing professional development scheme is designed for upper KS2 primary teachers. Through a series of online and in person workshops, teachers will discover how to engage pupils with the Times Higher Award winning “Into Our Skies: Space in Schools” scheme of work.

This scheme will help teachers enthuse their pupils with knowledge beyond the curriculum, and inspire pupils through their awareness of space-related careers and speaking with STEM ambassadors.

The programme will include three CPD sessions:

  • Discovering the curriculum through dance (online)
  • Exploring STEAM-in-Space classroom activities, careers and beyond (online)
  • Exploring Into Our Skies: Space in Schools (in person; various locations TBC)
