NASUWT Notice
Dear Head Teacher,
The Local Authority has received notification regarding the NASUWT Notice of an official industrial action ballot for school teachers for the pay award under the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1992. The ballot is in relation to the trade dispute over NASUWT’s demand for pay award of 12% for their members and the funding of this. Please find attached a sample copy of the ballot paper that will be sent to members by the Trade Union. Schools are being notified as you may have at least one member of staff who this affects within one or more of the following categories:
- Teachers
- Supply Teachers
- Support Staff
- Centrally Attached
Halton’s HR Team have drafted a model pay policy that has been sent to schools incorporating a 5% uplift as notified. However should there be any changes on the back of the continued disputes then the model policy will be amended accordingly.
Halton Holiday Activity & Food Fund (HAF), Winter 2022
Halton Borough Council is delighted to announce that we have secured additional funding to enable local providers to offer FREE activities & food during the Christmas holiday period to school aged children from Reception to Year 11, who receive benefits-related to free school meals. There are also a number of places available to other vulnerable groups of children and young people, such as SEND, Young Carers, NEET.
Can you please promote the free! activities and food to the appropriate children, young people and their families/carers.
Please see the links below, if they would like to register a child or young person on to the activities and please contact the provider direct to secure a place/places.
