Welcome to Your Vote Week 2023

Schools are being encouraged to get involved with Welcome to Your Vote Week 2023, taking place from 20 January to 5 February, and start the conversation about democracy and politics with the young people they work with.

For 2023, Welcome to Your Vote Week’s theme is ‘our democracy’, emphasising that democracy is for everyone, and that democracy is taking place all around us.

The Electoral Commission is asking teachers and educators to help young people to learn more about democracy and their vote by delivering democratic education during the week. Councils and schools are encouraged to use the resources linked below to run activities to discuss what democracy means, and how everyone can be involved and have their say.

You can sign up to be a part of the week and receive free Welcome to Your Vote Week downloadable resources, which include presentation slides, social media graphics and posters.
